Here’s What Serious Agents Do When They Want To Go To The Dark Side

Home agents have for years called what I do – living on the dark side. Daniel Rothamel recently faced head on one of the true challenges of upper level real estate investment training — the CCIM courses. 200 hours of some pretty intense and acutely effective teaching is aimed your way, ready or not. As Daniel said in his post today, What I learned In School… — quoting one of the instructors the first few minutes of the week, “…for the next week, you are going to feel like you are trying to drink water from a fire hose.”

I’d warned him his plan to keep a record on his blog about his daily experiences there was a fantasy. He wouldn’t be doing it. He was skeptical. Once Wednesday came and I his blog had remained silent since the classes started, I couldn’t resist the urge to poke some fun at him.

He’s back now and writes a little of his week long experience at CI 101, the first class. (linked above) He learned the true meaning of death on a cracker. I encourage you to visit his site, as he’s a very smart guy who consistently has something of value to say. I suspect he’ll be telling some cool stories this week.

I can’t wait until he gets to the 40 hours of nothing but taxes, 1031 exchanges, installment sales, and all then used in case studies to try out what he actually learned in CI 101. I predict the back of his brain will crash into the front of his skull by Wednesday’s afternoon coffee break.

I can’t wait.

    Way to go Dude!

102 is a whole different story. Not easier or harder, just different.

Wouldn’t hurt to read about some of your experiences at 101.
