Still, losses aren't incurred until the asset is sold for a loss. Same with gains, as it's a two way street. The issue isn't as black and white as some would have us believe. One proposal they are discussing as a potential solution is to use cash flow analysis as an alternative way to determine the value of assets .... FASB plans a final vote on the proposal April 2nd, and if the rule change is voted in, companies could use the new guidance when issuing their first-quarter financial statements." Of course, you know this. By the way, I don't see anything different and cool. What the heck?
