The Next Generation? The Boomless Generation — Candy With The Pork & Beans

We live our lives, making our choices, living with our decisions. One of the decisions I made long ago, was to listen to others, but make my decisions and take the actions without caring what others think. Yeah, I know, everyone says that, but how many folks do you know in your circles who live it? Exactly.

It’s not that we don’t value others’ thoughts and/or feelings, or especially their input. But when it comes to perceived best interest, whether it’s self, family, friends, the decision maker must live with the consequences, good, bad, or ugly — not their critics. You can follow the road favored by the herd, which leads of course, to shearing.

Her of sheep

What am I talkin’ about? You.

Doing what either most are doing or what will generate approval, isn’t what’s gonna make or break your retirement. We’re creating a brand new class, which will begin emerging in the next several years. It’s the retiring Boomers. And I’ll name the class — The Boomless Generation. Boomers entering retirement age with nothing to look forward to but the weekend. They’ll be working until they can’t any more, or they’re dead.

Much of their problem will have been the consequence of listening to the herd, and caring what their peers thought of them. They volunteered for The Boomless Generation.

BawldGuy Axiom: Those who deride you for taking more risk than a 401(k) mutual fund strategy, won’t be serving your life sentence with you. They’re not gonna admit their strategy was wrong. You are gonna live out your retirement years, not your critics, and not the sheep who cared about what others thought.

The Boomless Generation — Have you volunteered?

Let’s talk about the differences in what you’ve been doin’ and what potential changes might benefit you and your family in retirement. Following the herd and caring what they think has gotten you…where? A Purposeful Plan is the answer, or rather the difference between a magnificently abundant retirement and a life sentence.

Meanwhile back at BawldRanch, here’s what’s quickly becoming my theme song. Listen to the lyrics. ‘Course I don’t condone the cheap shot at the beginning. :) Have a good one.
