Find out how fast lenders are moving to take advantage of the current perfect storm going on in their industry. It seems even recent history is forgotten when it comes to interesting times. I can only take credit for learning from experience in this case.

Ever wondered what pearls of wisdom are passed on to students at real estate broker school? I’ve always had a pat answer ready whenever the question has come up. I won’t print it here because it’ll give away the post’s answer. The public? Some are surprised by what we have to say, some aren’t. You decide.

Since associations were brought into home ownership, the Napoleonic Complex has reared its ugly head — and no region apparently is immune. Wanna add a rock? Fill out the form. Picked a particular shade of your favorite color for the new paint job? Don’t even think of getting that brush wet until you’ve been granted permission.

Brian Brady writes a piece showing how history keeps repeating itself. In When Lenders Stop Lending, Another Lender Lends Brian quickly and deftly points out that when it comes right down to it — lenders lend. Duh. Take a look, then see who’s taking up some of the slack left by lenders taking a powder.

Jay Thompson writes what he thinks about all the new things he’s learning while studying to obtain his broker’s license in Phoenix. I read pretty much everything Jay writes, as he’s one of the A-List guys in my opinion. This is just another example of Jay’s work.

Thesa Chambers gives us Sunriver A Peek Into Design Review Exterior Painting which can only be believed by suspending rational thought. I’ve seen it in San Diego, and I bet you’ve seen it where you live too. Folks put in charge of others’ lives sometimes become petty despots. But again, you decide. Also, pay attention to the virtual tour. I’m not a ‘house agent’, but I don’t think I’ve ever seen one quite like this one. Do you notice anything new/different? By the way, Thesa has just been added to my blogroll, so while you’re there, take a look around at some of her other posts.

“…and remember. The daily Bawldys have approximately 1/365th the value of our annual awards.”

  1. Thanks for the special mention… remember though as you read about Sunriver this is a resort – not just a community. If rules are not in your criteria for the perfect Central Oregon home… most of Central Oregon is much more lax.

    Thesa – >Sunriver this is a resort – not just a community.

Is that Oregonian code for, ‘They hug the tree tighter because they REALLY love it.’ ? :)

I read Brian’s blog…who would have thunk? Downey… Remember, they saved a deal for us 5 yrs ago when we were buying too much property for WaMu to handle?

  4. Cher says:

Forgot to say. This is a test, Jeff…do you remember which property it was? (hint: It starts with an “R” and the first four letters are a fragrant flower)
